London resident Tom Hamilton traveled to a Bruce County river to sample some spring steelhead fishing this week. This trout was caught and released in a recently melted section of river.

It appears that the deep freeze has finally come to an end for us in Grey-Bruce. Local temperatures have begun to creep above the freezing point and there is no denying the warming power of the March sunshine. Local rivers are beginning to unlock from ...

Anglers travel great distances to sample Lake Simcoe's renowned Yellow Perch fishery. Touted by many as the finest eating fish from Ontario waters. This haul was recently caught from the western shore of the lake over safe ice conditions.

Old Man Winter has firmly wrapped his chilly hands around southern Ontario. Winter is here, and with it comes the age-old tradition of angling through the frozen lakes and ponds scattered across our landscape. Icefishing season is now in full swing, ...

Dan Gravel of Owen Sound hoists a 12 lb Chinook caught on Sunday in Owen Sound Bay. Gravel's salmon just missed the top ten daily leader board. The fish was caught on a rotating flasher and fly combo trolled in 120 feet of water.

With the 27th annual Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular more than half-way complete, plenty of anglers have been left scratching their heads as they troll the bay in search of salmon. It has been no secret to the anglers in the derby that 2014 has been a ...

Tom Hamilton of London Ontario landed this big Chinook last week while trolling near Owen Sound Bay. Hamilton will be on the water again during derby, looking for the "big one".

The largest municipality in Grey/Bruce is about to be transformed into salmon city over the next ten days. The 27th Annual Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular is about to kick off. Once again the hard-working volunteers have erected the big tent, readied the ...

Devon Samson of Sauble Beach with a nice Chinook salmon taken last summer during the 30th annual Chantry Chinook Classic. The salmon bit a anchovy trolled behind a rotating flasher down 100 feet off the east side of the Bruce Peninsula.

For anglers throughout southern Ontario, mid summer means the return of salmon. Whether you fish the deep clear waters of Georgian Bay, or the large offshore expanses on Lake Huron, late July provides the first shot at connecting with mature Chinook ...
