    Sensei Tam has it right!
All it takes is a threaded arbor, large washers and nuts to fit the arbor, empty spool, spool of desired line, spool of backing.
Spin desired amount of line on reel, then fill with backing. Then mount empty spool on arbor, spin off the line/backing, and re-spool on the reel.
    Voila!
    First time PITA!
Second time absolute piece of cake!

    Thanks for the info guys,
The reel seems to be 3/8" shy of being completely full to rim on a 4.5" reel.
I used almost a full spool of spider 8lbs roughly 275-300 yards.
Sounds like I should cut the spider down to 200 and re-spool more 20lbs backing to completely fill reel?

It's not going to matter at all, if you find you have too little line just buy a filler spool and tie that to the existing mainline. Or when you next respool just strip off enough of the current mainline to make room for 100-150yds of new line.

Are you talking spider wire braid or their mono?

I wouldn't recommend the Vanish for leaders. Almost all fluro leader material is better than Vanish IMO.

Yeah take that vanish off, I haven't heard of anyone having good luck with that stuff. Get some Phantom/Drennan, etc for leader material.
(insert something smart to say here)

I've used 8lb Vanish as shot line and not have any issue with it...though for some reason I don't trust it as leader.
