As stated in earlier thread, 2012 was the most successful Chantry Derby in many years. Entries were up with many more junior anglers; fish numbers were up; there was a totally new prize category exclusively for Rainbows; new computers and printers along with street signage at all stations were made possible by a generous Trillium grant, and the prize totals, both cash and product, were greatly increased in 2012.

Chantry Treasurer Bert Kuntz has assembled the final figures and after all the fun and enjoyment the 2012 Derby brought we can point to financial success as well. Last night, the Derby Committee presented our Executive with a cheque for $15,000. Only hours before that, the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce gave the LHFC a cheque for $1,500 as a donation from the success of this years Fish Kincardine Derby as well.

Many thanks are due to Bruce and GBO, the Steelheaders, and Josh and Darryl Choronzey. All of you have raised the profile and awareness of both the LHFC and the Chantry.

Planning began early in September for the 2013 and we aim to repeat our success.

As our meeting was nearing completion last night Richard Elliott Jr showed up with a Libro Grant for our School Hatchery Program for $6000. Acting on entirely on his own, Richard secured these funds for the Club to increase the number of schools with hatcheries this year to 10. Richard started with 1 school three years ago with little fan fare. Today, he is getting inquires from all over North America because of his selfless dedication to recruiting young people into the world of fishing. Hats off to Richard for his tireless efforts!
