Wow! 21.84 on the first shift!

I helped out at Kincardine weigh station this morning as the Derby got under way, and we weighed in a nice leader at 11:30 - a 15.33 Salmon by John Ahers out of Elmwood. I thought that this was a pretty decent start. But then I get home and find that Mark Addison out Port Dover clocked in at 12.24 with a 21.84 Chinook.

Yeah, Dan... max hang time — 2 weeks of poor sleep with dreams of $14K.

Still, there were two 19+ Chinook immediately after Fish Kincardine Derby back in mid-June. We were hoping for another 20+ winner this year, so now it becomes a wait for weight.

Nice start to the derby. Good luck to everyone who is fishing the derby. I cannot make it this year due to work.

Great numbers so far Nick. I'll be watching the largest trout division with interest.

9.79 is a decent Rainbow, but I'm thinking 12+ on Awards Day. Overall Trout can go just about anywhere. About 2 weeks there was apparently a 28 lb Laker brought up in the nets.

One of the guys was speaking to the crew of the tug in the harbour and tells me that the nets have been pulled for the Derby. I'll try and confirm that.

I was just looking at the results for this year's derby, Nick. Nice to see big fish still slowly coming back in Huron. Not too mention the 25 lb laker.
