This is probably the most enjoyable task you could volunteer for to help out LHFC. The Chantry Derby is one of Ontario's major fishing events and an important fund raiser for the Club's projects.

Volunteers are needed for our weigh stations in Kincardine, Port Elgin and Pike Bay. We have 2 shifts daily from July 27th to August 10th - one from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and another from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is a short shift on the last day, August 27th from 10 a.m. to noon.

Each shift requires 2 people, one to weigh catches and one to key in the results. Some ticket or derby wear sales may also be involved. The foreperson may or may not be present for the entire shift but backup is never far away.

I've always enjoyed the socializing, joking and relaxed attitude along with picking the brains of some of the best anglers in the sport. At the very worst what you will have is a day at one of Ontario's premier beach getaways.
